“Furobashi” that is a dedicated “Onarido” bridge that only the Kishu Tokugawa family and Toshogu officials can cross during the Waka Festival, which is a festival of Toshogu that enshrines Ieyasu Tokugawa.
In the Edo period, such arched stone bridges were very rare outside the Kyushu region.
In particular, the theater has a delicate cloud-shaped sculpture.
Furobashi Bridge is designated as an important cultural property of Wakayama City and is the best historic site in the city.
I wonder how everyone felt when they were crossing the Furobashi bridge and heading for the Kishu Toshogu Shrine?
The scenery you can see from the cloud sculpture is also very breathtaking!

This is also where you’ll find the famous Furobashi Bridge, a beautiful arched stone bridge built in the 1850s, as well as numerous shrines and temples.
